What is the right volume setting when
playing music into Paltalk?
How do I get Stereo Mix Drivers?
What if I'm running Windows XP?
How do turn on Stereo Mix on my Visit
Operating System? |

Volume Settings
When you
have Stereo Mix functioning on your
computer and you
are piping music into a Paltalk Room,
always remember to set your
audio device ie, Windows Media
Player, Winamp, Real Audio Player
etc, on the Lowest Possible Volume
Setting so that people can
adjust their own volume up to
a desired level. |

If You
Have A Realtek Sound Card
REALTEK DRIVERS
You may
need to install a new set of drivers to get
Stereo Mix to
show up on your
Vista Sound System, the generic drivers
installed
as factory settings will not always contain
Stereo Mix
even if you have a Realtek Sound Card

Set up like this you
should be able to play music and sing or
talk along.
If you can't talk and play music with these
default settings make sure that the
microphone is not muted in "Speaker
Properties"
If you don't want people to hear you talking
just disable the microphone or mute the
microphone in "Speaker Properties" in
the playback tab. |

REALTEK DRIVERS
If after trying the above you are still
unsuccessful you obviously have only the
generic Vista sound card drivers, these will
not do at all. You need to upgrade your
system to include Stereo Mix, for
this you need to download the
FREE Realtek
Drivers.
First, please open Control Panel, go
to your Device Manager and
delete all of the generic Sound Device
Drivers.
Next, click on this link
(below) and download your new,
FREE
Realtek Drivers.
http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/SOUND-CARD/REALTEK/Realtek-HD-Audio-Vista-Driver-R161.shtml
The download is zipped, so unzip the files
to a new folder you will create on your
desktop and click on the file called "Setup"
Application
This file will setup your sound system with
completely new Drivers, once the setup is
complete repeat the steps starting again at
the top of this page...
